The Sellers Inspection: This Pre-Listing Inspection will make you aware of concerns in the house. It places you in a position where you have the choice to rectify these before listing the house for sale.
The Buyers Inspection: This inspection will help you make an informed buying decision and will help you understand your home's components and how they work. You'll learn what needs repair and when the repair needs to be done.
Professional training and experience in the field allows us to offer the most comprehensive home inspections available. We start at the roof and evaluate not only the roof surface, but also the chimney, the ventilation system, the electrical service entrance, the plumbing stack, and any other systems or components located on the roof.
Our next step is to inspect the exterior of the home. We use a macro and micro approach to look at both the big picture and all the details.
We then move inside the house, and starting at the bottom, work our way up through the home into the attic. While inside, we address such things as the structure, the heating and cooling systems, the electrical and plumbing systems, the interior finishes, the insulation and ventilation, and accessories such as fireplaces.

The HomeReport, ten years in the making and refining, offers one-hundred plus informative pages, with detailed system drawings for each new section. In June of 2009 my wife and I decided to test the real estate market, and put in an offer on an old century home near Port Perry. Being a century home, the decision to hire a home inspector was a no brainer. We were not totally satisfied with the gentleman who completed the inspection on our current home, so we made the choice to hire Andre from Haycroft.
On the morning of the Home Inspection, Andre arrived at the home at least a half an hour early, and began with the exterior inspection, making notes and taking photographs of anything that he noticed, down to the smallest crack in the vinyl siding. I was really impressed by his attention to detail!
Inside the home, Andre was extremely thorough, especially in the cellar, which had some moisture. Andre gave me two books that explain foundation repair, and the problems that can occur as a result of a damp basement. He also pointed out several areas of concern, including some rust on the heat exchanger of the furnace. Once again, his attention to detail was astonishing, as he made notes and took photos of things that a previous home inspector seemed to have ignored.
When all was said and done, we decided not to move ahead with the purchase of this home, thanks to the hard work and persistence of the Haycroft Home inspector. He was able to inform us of problems that needed to be fixed immediately, and other issues that we could expect to encounter in the future. Our experience with Andre was excellent, and we will surely hire him for our next inspection when we decide to put in an offer on another home.
